Got Chips? Get Dr Colorchip

We all know the frustrating sound of a rock or other foreign object striking our car!  Other than keeping a “garage queen” I don’t know how to avoid the pain.  But I have found a way to lessen the long term effect.

I & probably most of you have seen ads for months in all the magazines for Dr. Colorchip.  The come on says you just clean the spot then brush on their paint and smear it with your gloved thumb, then walk away for a hour or so.  Later you apply the solvent with one of the rags and clean the mess.  The other rag is to buff it all out.  What a joke, or so I thought.

Being too curious for my own good has been a lifetime problem.  Sure enough I finally broke down and gambled $50.00 their ad was telling the truth.  Two small bottles arrived along with a rubber glove and a couple of brushes and rags.  Whoopee! I gave $50 for this!  Well with $50 invested, I had to try it.  I picked out a chip only I would have ever seen and did their technique.  I was shocked, it worked!

Is the chip invisible?  None of the many chips I have since treat have totally disappeared.  However they are now a perfect color match to the car and you really have to look hard to find where they are.  The written material says you can leave it smeared for up to two hours and it works better the longer you leave it, & I agree.  They also say if you apply it enough times the chips will even out with the rest of the paint.  I haven’t done it enough times for that to happen yet but they definitely seem to be getting shallower.

Now I just hope the windshield polish I bought works as well.
